I haven't finished yet. Died again. LOL! This time when trying to make EONS the 10th Host. Also, I gotta say that Your use of A Game Within A Game is the best "Tutorial" I've Ever seen in any game in my life! And, "Cateramen" is right. Your work is magical!

EdIsGreat, Just finished. Wow!!! I'm going to have to rewatch all of them, again from that perspective.

That was absolutely magical, Incredible work!

The game is super cool, I wish you could add smth after, did it at first try

Nice congrats. Dont forget Time Quest if you are looking for more

super fun! i wish there was more, ill definitely be on the lookout for any future of projects of yours if you decide to make some!

No idea what the issue is at the end besides an infinite loop of dealing with EONs commands and nothing to research. Seems broken.

Not broken, you just missed the other network flaring up.

I did not miss it. I did try to scan it and nothing happened no matter how many times I filled and refilled storage space. Max improved storage space to be clear.

odd only thing. ican think of is you didnt have all the hosts. never heard of that happening

Simple yet complex game, really enjoyed the fun little find and create paths adventure

Okay, so no saves.

I am most definitely not starting over again.

Absolutely awesome game :), took me a couple tries as I deleted the wrong files lol

don't work

So what in the heck happened here

Basically if you have all the cores, you can theoretically do nothing and not lose and collect those tasks. I didnt want people that got to the end to actually die.

Also I got effectively stuck in a way and had to refresh because I don't know for the life of me where that thing that doubles all the storage spaces was

I'm having fun, expanding and progressing, and then A FAIL STATE IS IN THE MOST RANDOM PLACES AND I HAVE TO START OVER. LIKE WTF.

Otherwise its good

(1 edit)

Fail states are not random. They happen when you end up in a situation where you cant win, usually deleting a critical file.

Yeah I know, but sometimes I just misclick or it's in a .txt file or something

(+3)

i hope thats not how you treat your files in real life

its not, I just wish there was a way to not have that happen or something

What to do after installing psjailbreak.img and/or finding solar host?

psjailbreak is for the Sony host, the Solar host needs remote desktop (or whatever the name was) and the password is in the Nova logs

(1 edit)

Can we get save points maybe? like big events have an autosave point so that if you have to close the game, then you don't lose all your progress? It would be nice to have that pre eons

don't understand what the endpoint is, otehr than the skynet. Is there a way to get more probes,or is that something you get after beating the game once  to help with speeding stuff up (for like speedrunners or sum)? I'd just need like a hint for what to do after i get to the sony jailbreak thing.

(1 edit)

there should be more stuff with the other hosts

(+1)

Somehow I managed to win this on the first go and haven't been able to do so since.

This was awesome and really fun, well done! Looking forward to seeing your future projects!

what if there was a login button which would appear when you start and it would prompt a sign up or login to account, of course in order to make an account you would need a email, password, and a username. once you do this you would be prompted to input a code. you get the code (which is different every time) after beating the game and creating skynet. when you make your online account it would act like the start of the game but when you copy the basic software you would unlock newer software that is multiplayer specific (chat.exe, bruteforce.exe, firewall.exe, password.exe, fwpass.exe, psswcrc.exe, messenger.exe, antivirus.exe, scanware.exe, vmaker.exe, and motd.txt, spamware.exe)
the purposes of the software are as follows:

chat.exe: allows public communication with all players.

bruteforce.exe: allows you to crack the password of player networks (if equal to or greater than target password.exe)

firewall.exe: protects you from another players scanware.exe as well as fwpass.exe (if level is greater than attackers software)

password.exe: your second line of defense for when it comes to protecting what you have. will block out players with passwcrc.exe levels lowers than this software's level.

messenger.exe: allows you to directly message 1 or more people, you click on the player's username first (i.e. glitch505). so it would be glitch505 -> profile -> add friend -> confirm. and you can message them from messenger.exe

antivirus.exe: will automatically remove virus' with a level equal to or lower than its own. also prevents exploits from being used if targets vmaker.exe's level is lower than its own level.

scanware.exe: will allow you to see the level of the targets firewall, av, password, scanware, psswcrc, fwpass, and bruteforce.

vmaker.exe: allows you to make different types of virus' and will strengthen exploits as well. allowing them to be used on stronger antivirus'

motd.txt: the text contained within will determine the message a player recieves when hacking into another network and when they are pinged.

spamware.exe: generates $20 per hour, this is multiplied by its level.

i also mentioned that you can make virus'. here are the virus' and their functions:

spyware: grants read-only access to the targets log and will also allow you to see if they are online (i.e. someone is in the account at the time)

ransomware: will lock up the targets system and will demand 25% of the targets money to unlock their system. this will kill all tasks on the target as well.

miner: will slowly take money from the host at a rate of $1 per minute,

screenwatch: will allow you to see what the host is doing in the game (if they are online)

extinguisher: will weaken the targets firewall by a value based on its own level.

EONS virus: triggers an EONS event for 1 minute, the tasks for preventing null, resisting void, solidifying timeline, and preventing timeslip wont appear. if many tasks are left unattended for this time then cores will take damage, if they succeed then nothing happens. all text on screen will be distorted and glitchy like when you try to overload EONS host, active probes wont do anything for this time, along with probes being useless, the scan progress value will change from its real number and will decrease after the event no matter what. it decreases more if it is failed. the EONS virus has a cooldown of 1 hour.

fuzzware: when installed on a player all text will be glitchy and distorted like in the eons event. logs will be scrambled too, being unable to be differentiated between what type it is. ips, passwords, and names are distorted. the target cannot learn passwords during this time.

i will edit with more ideas when i come up with them.

Awesome !

Well done, I loved it ... I recommend it to my friends ;^)

I can't even find the word to define this game. What an experiment.

(+1)

Absolutely outstanding.  I don't think there is any other way to put it.

(+2)

This was fun, very cool take on the hacking genre. I liked the rapid expansion across timelines and what I originally thought was New Game Plus.
- star1s1 has "kernel" misspelled as "kernal" in error.log
- "YOU KNOW NOT WHAT YOU DO" "lol k" made me chuckle
- time quest seemed too easy, but very dark
- probabilistic is misspelled as probablilstic

(+1)

Thanks for the typos! Also this is the first time ive heard Time Quest is too easy... did you complete it on standard timeline?

I think so, I didn't do any of the timeline stuff.

(+1)

nice... i imagine you got some lucky rolls then. glad you enjoyed it

An absolute *masterpiece* of a game, the puzzles were fun, and the fact the game would auto-reset if you softlock yourself is absolutely great!

One minor bug: In the final iteration, you can form SKYNET while EON is erasing you, so apparently in one multiverse sky overwrites eon, but eon then overwrites all timelines :P

That was an incredible game, I only died once, and I'm still not 100% sure how lol I really enjoyed it though, it was a great experience

Thanks for the feedback. Generally you will die if you hit an unwinnable state. Usually by deleting something before you use it.

very good

died 100 times but

VERY GOOD

thanks! glad you liked it
